Concrete · Exposed aggregate

Exposed aggregate. Stone that shows.

Castlemaine, alpine grey, dark river, gold pebble. The timing of the wash is what makes the stone show even. That's the bit we do in-house.

What's included

The wash timing decides how it looks.

Exposed agg fails when the wash is rushed (stone shows too proud) or delayed (cement skin sticks). We watch the slab from pour to wash so it lands right.

  • Stone blend choice. Castlemaine, alpine grey, dark river, gold pebble. Or match a neighbour's job.
  • Standard 100mm reinforced slab underneath. Same as a plain pour. The difference is the finish layer.
  • Surface retarder + wash. Timed off the weather. Stone exposed even across the slab.
  • Saw-cuts to suit. Joints lined up with the front step or path. Not random.
  • Sealer (optional). Adds shine, helps colour pop, eases cleaning.
